Trump Says He Has Reached An Agreement With China

Beijing will supply the U.S. with rare earth minerals.

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that a deal with China is done: differences over reciprocal import duties have been resolved, and the two sides agreed that Beijing will supply the U.S. with rare earth minerals and Washington will again allow Chinese students into American universities.

"We get 55% and they get 10%. Great relationship!" - Trump wrote on the Truth Social network, apparently outlining the agreed level of trade duties.

Trump said the deal was subject to final approval by him and Chinese President Si Jinping.On Tuesday, following two days of intense talks in London, U.S. and Chinese delegations agreed on key terms to restore a trade truce and lift restrictions on rare earth metal exports from China, Reuters reported.Resolving restrictions on shipments of Chinese rare earth minerals and magnets to the United States is fundamental, said U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who led the delegation in London.
