An American businessman with Polish roots, Thomas Kokosinski, who planned to become a minority shareholder in Krakow's Wisła soccer club, died six days after an accident at a local restaurant, writes Interia Sport.
Kokosinski planned to invest $5 million in Wisła and came to Poland to finalize the share purchase.
The businessman was admitted to intensive care after visiting a restaurant in Krakow and was put on a ventilator but eventually died.
Kokosinski was 42 years old and was the head of a company that dealt with metalworking.
Radiozet.pl notes that the businessman may have choked on a dumpling.
The Kraków club finished fourth in the second division last season, but failed to break through to the elite.
