GSD "shut Down" Internet And Television In Siberia

On a "significant" date for Russians.

One of the largest Internet providers in Siberia, Orion Telecom, has been paralyzed in Russia. The successful operation was carried out by cyber specialists of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine with the support of cyber activists.

According to the source OBOZ.UA, Orion Telecom networks were actively used by Russian security agencies to carry out aggression against Ukraine. A closed town specializing in uranium mining, where Orion Telecom was the only provider, was left without communication.

A total of 370 servers and about 500 network switches were taken out of service, so-called backups were wiped out. This will not allow the provider to quickly restore work.

Additionally, the consequences of the work of our specialists were felt by the aggressor state on June 12, the day of Russia.

From the very morning, local publicks in Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Bratsk and Abakan were full of complaints from disgruntled Russians who complained about the lack of Internet and television. A letter allegedly from Ukrainian hackers to an Internet provider was circulating in local Telegram groups.

"Happy holiday, disrespectful Russians, soon you will live in the Stone Age, and we will help you. Glory to Ukraine," the text was signed by activists of the BO Team hacker group.

Orion Telecom confirmed the presence of technical problems due to a powerful DDoS attack and promised to restore Internet service by the end of the day.
