Bloomberg: NATO Adopts Ambitious Plans To Counter Russian Federation

Alliance nations are ready to unify their missile defense shields.

NATO countries have for the first time raised the topic of combining the Alliance's missile defense shield with other missile defense assets. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has long complained about the fact that Romania and Poland have ballistic missiles on their territory, according to Bloomberg.

The combination of missile defense with an integrated NATO system would target both the threat from Russia and Iran.

The source writes that NATO members have adopted ambitious new weapons goals for the first time since the end of the Cold War. It is possible that all details of the missile defense system will be resolved by the NATO summit in The Hague on June 24-25.

It is not yet known whether this missile defense shield will be aimed only against the threat from Russia or also Iran. It is still unknown whether Washington will support this idea and how this innovation will affect the war in Ukraine.

Director of the Middle East Institute (Washington, USA) Yulia Joja said that most of the ballistic missiles in NATO countries are American. They are already obsolete and need to be updated. These missiles were originally aimed against a single threat from Iran.
