Israel continued its attacks on Iran in the afternoon of June 13. The military airport in Tabriz in the northwest of the republic came under attack, Tasnim reported. According to the agency, the target was the Shahid Fakouri airbase, where fighter jets are stationed. Social media posted videos of thick puffs of black smoke near the facility.
Israel also struck an Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) missile factory in Shiraz and an arms depot in Borujerd (Lurestan province). In addition, a uranium enrichment plant in Natanz was attacked again, Iranian TV reported. Earlier, authorities officially acknowledged that it was damaged.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declared readiness to fight "as long as necessary" to eliminate the threat from Iran. He stressed that he would prevent the Islamic republic from obtaining its own nuclear weapons.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes against Iran's nuclear facilities, command centers and missile bases on the night of June 13, engaging 200 warplanes that hit more than 100 targets. As a result, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Hosein Salami and Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Mohammad Baqeri were killed, along with six leading scientists working on the nation's nuclear program.
