Reuters: Israel Has Eliminated At Least 20 Senior Iranian Generals

Including the elimination of the entire top leadership of the IRGC Air Force.

At least 20 senior commanders have been killed in an Israeli attack on Iran, regional sources tell Reuters. Earlier, both sides confirmed the deaths of the Islamic Republic's Chief of General Staff Mohammad Bagheri, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Hossein Salami, and the head of the Khatam al-Anbiya emergency response headquarters, General Gholam-Ali Rashid.

In the meantime, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of the top leadership of the IRGC Air Force. Among those killed were Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Unmanned Aerial Forces Commander Taher Pur and Air Defense Commander Daoud Shihyan. Hajizadeh's death was confirmed by Iran's Nour News Agency.

The IDF noted that Hajizadeh and his subordinates commanded Iran's combined attacks on Israel in October 2024 and a missile strike in April 2024. It also noted that the officer in question had publicly stated his commitment to Israel's destruction at various events in recent years and "played a central role in the development" of the plan. In addition, the eliminated military officer led an attack on Saudi oil facilities in September 2019, the IDF added.

(Israel launched a large-scale airstrike against Iran's nuclear facilities, command centers https://charter97.org/ru/news/2025/6/13/644202/) and missile bases on the night of June 13, involving 200 warplanes that hit more than 100 targets, including a key uranium enrichment plant in Natanz. The attacks continued during the day. Among others, the Shahid Fakouri air base in Tabriz, where fighter jets are stationed, was hit.
