CNN: Mossad Has Turned Iran Into Its "playground"

Israeli intelligence operations are becoming more and more public.

Israel carried out one of the largest operations in its history, striking Iran's nuclear and military infrastructure. But what was most impressive was that the attack was launched not from the air - but from inside the country itself, writes CNN.

According to Israeli security sources, Mossad special agents infiltrated Iran in advance, smuggled weapons, planted explosives near key air defense sites and set up a base for launching drones. These actions paralyzed Iran's defense system before launching a massive airstrike.

Officials say more than 200 aircraft took part in the air operation, hitting more than 100 targets. High-precision weapons delivered by Israeli special forces were used to destroy Iranian surface-to-air systems near Tehran. Thanks to this, the Israeli Air Force was able to operate virtually unhindered - all aircraft returned to base without loss.

One of the main targets were Iranian military commanders and scientists, particularly those linked to the nuclear program. The sources said Israeli intelligence operated "in the heart of Iran," particularly in the capital, Tehran. Numerous cases of assassinations and bombings have been recorded, captured on video and published by the Israeli side itself.

The operation is the culmination of a long conflict between Israel and Tehran that has unfolded in the shadows for decades. Since 2007, the Mossad has repeatedly carried out assassinations of nuclear scientists inside Iran, including Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was eliminated in 2020. Also in 2018, agents stole an entire nuclear archive - more than 55,000 pages and 55,000 files - from Tehran, which was shown at a press conference by then-Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The recent attack also killed Fereydoun Abbasi, one of the key experts on Iran's nuclear program, who said as recently as May that strikes on the sites would not affect the timetable for nuclear weapons because "nuclear materials are not stored above ground."

Holly Dagres, a senior fellow at the Washington Institute, noted:

"The Mossad has treated Iran as its playground for years. From assassinations to sabotage, Israel has always had the upper hand in this shadow war."

It is telling that even before the attack began, Israel eliminated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh - not in Gaza, but specifically in Tehran. According to Israeli sources, the explosive device was planted in the guest house where he was staying and activated remotely at just the right moment.

Despite the Iranian side's loud claims of protection and retaliation, the numerous security lapses reveal serious internal weakness. As former Mossad deputy chief Ram Ben Barak put it, Israeli intelligence successes are attributable not only to professionalism but also to "a regime that is hated even by the majority of its own people."

After decades of shadowy operations, Mossad operations are now becoming public - and demonstrating that Israel is no longer playing an underhanded game.
