Ukraine And Russian Federation Hold Fourth Prisoner Exchange In A Week

Most of the Ukrainian soldiers released today are officers.

Ukraine and Russia held a new prisoner exchange on Saturday, June 14. This is the fourth exchange in a week.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

The head of state noted that among those released there are many who have been in captivity since 2022. These are soldiers of the AFU, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and the State Special Transportation Service.

The Coordstadt for the Treatment of Prisoners of War clarified that military personnel with injuries and health problems were returned home. A significant part of the defenders released today were captured during the defense of Mariupol.

The majority of soldiers released today are officers. Also a part of the released are under 25 years old.

The Ukrainians who fought in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Lugansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Sumy and Kursk directions are returning home.

According to human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, the oldest of the returned soldiers is 63 years old, while the youngest is 21. Among those released there are those who were considered missing.
