High-ranking intelligence officers are killed in a strike on Tehran.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on June 15 announced the elimination of high-ranking Iranian intelligence officers. The Israeli prime minister told the Fox News television channel that an Israeli strike on Tehran killed the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence unit and his deputy.
In an interview with the channel, Netanyahu also accused Iran of intending to transfer nuclear weapons to Yemen's Houthis, members of the Ansar Allah movement.
"This is nuclear terrorism on a global scale, it threatens everyone," the politician said.
According to the prime minister, the Israeli military destroyed a critical nuclear reactor in Isfahan, without which the creation of atomic weapons becomes impossible. He also claimed that Iran's main nuclear facility in Natanz has been destroyed.
Talking about the internal state of Iranian society, Netanyahu said that 80 percent of the country's population favors a change in the country's leadership.
The Israeli prime minister said earlier on June 15 that Israel is engaged in an "existential struggle with an enemy that seeks its destruction."
