U.K. intelligence data.
North Korean troops have lost more than 6,000 soldiers in Russia's Kursk region.
Account X of the UK Ministry of Defense informs.
The total number of losses is more than half of the approximately 11,000 DPRK troops that were initially deployed to Kursk region, according to intelligence reports. According to open sources, the DPRK subsequently deployed a limited additional number of troops to Kursk Oblast, the report said.
"The significant North Korean troop losses were almost certainly the result of large-scale very grueling infantry attacks," the report said.
The report recalled that Russian Security Council Secretary and former Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited the DPRK on June 4 to meet with DPRK leader Kim Jong Un, marking his second trip in less than three months.
"Shoigu was likely a key mediator in negotiations with the DPRK over its support for Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine. DPRK operations have so far been limited to the Kursk region. Any decision to deploy troops to the internationally recognized sovereign territory of Ukraine to support Russian forces would almost certainly require the approval of both Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un," the memo said.
