Italian Club Has 10 Players Down With Poisoning After Important Match

The team is fighting for a place in Serie B.

At Salernitana, which is fighting for survival in the second division of the Italian championship (Serie B), 16 people, including at least ten players, have been diagnosed with symptoms of food poisoning. This is reported by Corriere dello Sport.

The team lost the first leg 0-2 to Sampdoria in Genoa on June 15. On the way back to Salerno, the players showed symptoms of poisoning. The team attributed it to the food provided by the hotel in Genoa, where the players stayed before the match.

After arriving in Salerno, part of the team was hospitalized, some have already been discharged, but the morning training session was canceled.

The club asked to postpone the return match with Sampdoria, scheduled for Friday, June 20.

Salernitana became 16th in Serie B, Sampdoria - 17th.
