Specific solutions have been agreed upon.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has held a meeting on sanctions policy and joint restrictive measures with partners against Russia and its allies. A number of specific decisions were made.
He announced this in social networks.
"The first is to synchronize the sanctions of our state and partners one hundred percent. The sanctions packages of the European Union and other global entities should also be fully confirmed by Ukraine's national sanctions decisions," the head of state said.
"Second - we continue the policy of pressure on the Russian tanker fleet. I have set the task to expand sanctions on the captains of this fleet, as well as on Russian terminals that ship oil. The relevant decisions should also be synchronized with partners," he said.
According to him, facts have been recorded that the same oil tankers are used by both Russia and Iran to finance the war.
"We are separately working on the introduction of sanctions against gas carriers, which the Russians expect to use for their projects.
Third - we have considered new areas of sanctions in order to complicate Russia's ability to drag out the war. These include financial instruments, cryptocurrencies, payment schemes and the supply of components and equipment to Russia for weapons production. I instructed to expand opportunities for parliamentary diplomacy, work with public leaders and the corporate sector for the sake of supporting new sanctions solutions," Zelensky added.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, intelligence agencies and the National Bank of Ukraine should ensure more tangible results of sanctions pressure on Russia and its accomplices, he emphasized.
