The highest ranks of the Russian Federation are silent.
Putin has remained silent for more than a day after a series of emergencies in Russia over the weekend, when first railroad bridges collapsed in the Bryansk and Kursk regions and then Russian strategic aviation bases came under an unprecedented strike by the AFU, writes The Moscow Times.
Putin said nothing about the railroad accidents on Saturday that left seven people dead and more than 100 injured. Left without comment from Putin was the attack on air bases in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ryazan and Ivanovo regions that destroyed at least 13 strategic bombers, according to OSINT analysts. On Monday, the Kremlin press service only published Putin's congratulatory message on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, in which the president did not mention the emergency in any way. According to Ukrainian data, the attack damaged or destroyed 40 aircraft - or one-third of all strategic bombers carrying nuclear weapons.
"The previously verbose deputy chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, who in late May twice threatened Kiev and the West with nuclear war, has also swallowed his tongue. The Duma deputies were silent, and the Russian Defense Ministry limited itself to a meager summary in which it acknowledged "the burning of several pieces of equipment."
The head of the Russian delegation at the talks with Kiev, Vladimir Medinsky, did not comment on the incident. Medinsky told RIA Novosti on Sunday evening, shortly after landing in Istanbul, that he was in a "good mood."
