Oil Spilled From An Oil Pipeline Near Mozyr

The incident has been localized.

In Mozyr district in Gomel region, oil products leaked from the main oil pipeline Mozyr-Brest of Gomeltransneft Druzhba OJSC, "Zerkalo" reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The leak was discovered near the village of Akulinka in Mozyr district. Rescuers, district environmental protection and sanitary and epidemiological service, specialists of "Promatomnadzor", as well as Mozyr district executive committee are already working there.

"The reasons for the emergency situation are being clarified. The incident has been localized. No oil products have been recorded in water bodies," reported the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The emergency service of "Gomeltransneft Druzhba" is carrying out emergency recovery works, pumping out oil products.

Specialists of the Republican Center for Analytical Control in the field of environmental protection of the Ministry of Natural Resources will determine the area and degree of soil contamination with oil products.

The Ministry reportedly "initiated a meeting of the emergency commission of Mozyr district executive committee to develop additional measures to eliminate the spill".
