Sergei Atroshchenko was 55 years old.

Belarusian businessman Sergei Atroshchenko died on June 19 from severe cancer, writes smartpress.by.

Atroshchenko is best known as the founder of the underwear brand Serge and the newspaper Obozrevatel.

He was born in 1970 in Minsk. The future businessman learned to earn money as a child. In one of the interviews he told how at the age of 10 he cut vines and "handed them over to the Mozyr factory". "If you bring a thousand of these oak trees, you get 4 rubles 50 kopecks", - he said.

At the age of 21 (right after the collapse of the USSR) he registered as an individual entrepreneur and started business by producing rabbit skins, sewing and trading fur hats and fur coats at the Storozhevsky market in Minsk.

In 1996 he launched the production of underwear. The Serge company developed rapidly: starting with 15 sewing machines and the same number of seamstresses, it grew to a staff of 700 people. Stores appeared all over Belarus, then in the CIS and even in some European countries.

At the same time Atroshchenko bought the newspaper "Svobodnye Novosti". Later he founded Obozrevatel.
