The Russian dictator responded by talking about "Russian-speaking" Israel.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has denied that Russia had to launch a "military operation" after Israel launched hostilities against Iran, a strategic Russian ally.
Putin said this during a June 20 speech to Russian propagandists.
The Russian dictator said that Israel is home to nearly 2 million natives of the former Soviet Union and Russia and is therefore "almost a Russian-speaking country." At the same time, Putin said the Kremlin has "traditionally had good and friendly relations with the Arab world."
"We always fulfill our obligations. (...) We support Iran in the fight for its interests on peaceful atom (...). Who says we should have done more... What, more? Start some kind of combat operations? We already have combat operations going on with those we consider adversaries. (...) We are defending Iran's right to a peaceful atom. We have built a nuclear reactor in Iran and have contracts for two more. We are continuing that work, we are not evacuating our personnel from there. (...) Is this not support for Iran?" the Russian dictator summarized.
