'Not Going To Get A Nobel': Trump Says He Has Ended 'bloodshed'

What did the president of the United States mean by that?

US President Donald Trump said he was able to secure a peace deal between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, defining it as his personal achievement.

"I am very pleased to announce that along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, I have negotiated a wonderful Treaty between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Rwanda, ending a war known for decades of brutal bloodshed," Trump wrote on his Truth Social.

He added that representatives of the two countries are expected to sign a peace treaty in Washington next week.

At the same time, the US president complained that he would not get a Nobel Peace Prize for this.

"I will not get a Nobel Peace Prize for this. I didn't get it for ending the war between India and Pakistan, or Serbia and Kosovo, or keeping the peace between Egypt and Ethiopia...I'm not going to get it for Russia/Ukraine or Israel/Iran - whatever the results are - but people know, and that's all that matters to me," he said.

Trump regularly touts his peacemaking successes, but there are few real results from his efforts. For example, he promised to end Russia's war against Ukraine first in 24 hours, then in 100 days, but has so far failed to achieve this.
