U.S. Evacuates Embassy Staff In Israel

And they're getting ready to move citizens out.

Due to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, the number of Americans who would like to leave these countries is growing. Employees of the U.S. Embassy in Israel and their family members have already left the conflict zone.

According to independent.

On June 20, the United States evacuated 79 employees of the U.S. Embassy in Israel and their family members.

The reason for the evacuation was the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, as well as the growing number of American citizens seeking information about possible ways to leave Israel and Iran.

The evacuation took place on a military flight from Tel Aviv to Sofia, Bulgaria. This is the second such flight in a week. From Sofia, passengers were to transfer to a chartered flight to Washington.

How many Americans want to leave Israel

It is known that on Friday alone, more than 6,400 Americans in Israel filled out an online form asking for information about organizing evacuation flights. Another 3,265 called a hotline for assistance.

The State Department estimates that between 300 and 500 people may need evacuation assistance each day if the government decides to organize additional air or sea flights.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee confirmed that this possibility is being considered.
