John Cole, deputy special representative of US President Keith Kellogg has revealed details of the release of 14 Belarusian political prisoners. He posted the video on his social media page X.

"The moment I particularly remember is when the van with these 14 people pulled up on the country road where we were meeting them. I opened the door and they all had their heads down. They didn't realize what was going on," John Cole recounted.
"I said: 'You're free, you're free.' Some of them spoke English - they understood and they passed it on to the rest of them. And everything changed because [before that] they didn't know where they were being taken - they probably thought they were going to some horrible place."
Deputy Special Representative Keith Kellogg said all the political prisoners were being taken "like real prisoners" with their hands behind their backs. "When they heard they were free - they were ecstatic," he elaborated.
