Natalya Dulina: I Categorically Refused To Write A Petition For Pardon
Natalia Dulina

The ex-political prisoner shared the details of her release.

Ex-political prisoner Natalya Dulina, who was released on June 21, admitted in an interview with "Belsat" that she didn't want to leave Belarus.

When she was leaving, the deputy head of the colony told her: "Dulina, for the last time, there is an opportunity to plead guilty."

- I said: "No." He said, 'Well, then, to be shot,'" she recalls the dialog and adds that she got used to these "operational jokes."

- I honestly did not want to leave Belarus. I had six months left, I have to go out in December. And of course I would have been happy if they had taken someone else. But, unfortunately, I was not given the opportunity to somehow decide for myself, you know?

- If I were to go back now to the time I told you about, and knowing what it was like, I would shy away.
