Europe welcomes the release of Sergei Tikhanovsky.

The release of Belarusian presidential candidate for the 2020 election Sergei Tihanovski is "fantastically good news" but other political prisoners should not be forgotten, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said on Saturday, June 21, "Deutsche Welle".

"It is fantastically good news that Sergei Tihanovski is finally free. At the same time, let's not forget the many other prisoners in Belarus. Lukashenko should finally release them," the German foreign minister wrote on social network X.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski also welcomed Tikhanovsky's release and thanked U.S. Presidential Special Envoy for Russia and Ukraine Keith Kellogg for his assistance in the release of political prisoners in Belarus.
