The President of the United States delivered an address to the nation.
US President Donald Trump said Washington's airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran - in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan - were a "spectacular military success." The American head of state addressed the nation at the White House on Saturday, June 21, German Wave reported.
The U.S. leader added that Iran's key nuclear facilities have been "totally and completely destroyed" in the strikes.
U.S. President: Tehran must make peace
Trump emphasized that Tehran must make peace or "we will attack" other targets in Iran. "There will either be peace or a tragedy for Iran, far greater than what we have seen over the last eight days," the White House chief indicated.
He also congratulated Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, saying they had worked as a "team" to eliminate this "terrible threat to Israel."
Trump did not explicitly mention the possibility of regime change in Tehran. Instead, he made it clear that the US considers the operation largely over - provided Iran sits down at the negotiating table, the BBC media outlet clarified.
The US has moved significant military assets to the region, which Trump said shows that Washington is prepared to act very quickly if necessary.
Trump's speech lasted about four minutes. During the address, Vice President James David Vance (JD Vance), Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stood behind the US president.

White House: Trump spoke with Netanyahu after strikes
After the U.S. military struck three Iranian sites, the American leader had a phone conversation with Israel's prime minister, a senior White House official said.
The United States also "warned Israel before the strikes," the official told AFP news agency.
Netanyahu issued a statement regarding the US strikes. "President Trump and I often say, 'Peace through strength.' First comes force and then comes peace,'" he pointed out. "And tonight, President Trump and the United States acted with great force," the Israeli prime minister added.
Pentagon officials: US dropped bunker buster bombs
Fox News reported that six bunker bombs were used in the attack on Fordow, while 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired at other targets.
In turn, senior U.S. Defense Department officials said GBU-57A bunker buster bombs were used in the attack, with two of them being dropped on each of the nuclear sites, BBC media reported.
