The leader of the civil campaign "European Belarus" Andrei Sannikov reacted to the the release of Sergei Tikhanovsky and 13 other Belarusian political prisoners:

- Very happy for Sergei and the others, who have been plucked from the "captors of the GPU".

The Americans have proved that they have a real opportunity to release all political prisoners in Belarus.
The sanctions and the Lukashenko regime's plea for help to crawl out from under these sanctions have worked. That's why Lukashenko released Sergei, someone he really wanted to kill. Like he killed Ales Pushkin whom he hated.
Now is a very important, historic moment: the release of one of the leaders of the 2020 revolution could be the starting point either for the dictatorship to continue trading people's lives or for the beginning of fundamental changes in Belarus.
And in this, the United States, which has proven its influence, could become a key factor of change in Belarus and, through Belarus, in the entire region.
