NYT: In A Strike On Iran, The U.S. Used A 13-ton Superbomb For The First Time In History

The B-2 bombers flew non-stop for about 37 hours.

During strikes on Iran's nuclear infrastructure, the United States used a superbomb - a 13-ton GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator - for the first time in real combat conditions, writes The New York Times.

The newspaper's sources said the U.S. used the MOP bomb, also called a bunker-buster. It was probably used to strike the Fordow nuclear research center hidden in a mountain.

An American official, on condition of anonymity, also said that the U.S. B-2 bombers that struck Iranian nuclear facilities early Sunday morning flew nonstop for about 37 hours from their base in Missouri, refueling several times in the air.
