Pentagon Chief: Iran's Nuclear Ambitions Destroyed

U.S. strikes on Iran contained elements of "disorientation."

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made his first comments after the U.S. struck three nuclear sites in Iran.

His statement on Sunday quotes CNN.

Commenting on the strikes, Hegseth said that "the orders we received from our commander-in-chief were clear, decisive and understandable."

"We destroyed Iran's nuclear program, but it is worth noting that the operation was not directed against Iranian troops or the Iranian people.... Thanks to President Trump's bold and visionary leadership and his commitment to peace through strength, Iran's nuclear ambitions have been destroyed," assured Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth also stated that the U.S. strikes on Iran contained elements of "disorientation." This may be a hint at the White House's announcement that President Trump will take up to two weeks to decide whether to intervene militarily.
