Alexei Zharov was killed in a shootout.

The head of the Russian military police Alexei Zharov was killed in the Sujansky district of the Kursk region during an attempt to detain looters. This was written in his Telegram channel by Alexander Khinshtein, the region's acting governor.

According to Khinshtein, the suspects in Zharov's murder have been detained.

The publication "Friend for Friend", citing unofficial data, writes that the attackers, tentatively, opened fire on the military police near Suja, and Zharov was killed in a shootout.
