For refusing to cooperate with a counter-version parliamentary commission.

Tbilisi City Court on Monday handed down sentences to three Georgian opposition leaders who were accused of refusing to cooperate with a counter-version parliamentary commission.

This was reported by Ekho Kavkaza.

On Monday, the sentences were announced alternately for Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the opposition movements Strong Georgia and Lelo, Zurab Japaridze, leader of the Coalition for Change and the Girchi More Freedom party, and Badri Japaridze, one of the leaders of Strong Georgia and Lelo.

Khazaradze and Badri Dzhaparidze were sentenced to eight months in prison, while Zurab Dzhaparidze was sentenced to seven.

All of them were previously accused of refusing to cooperate with a parliamentary investigative commission that is investigating the activities of the former government of Mikhail Saakashvili in 2004-2012.
