Electronics manufacturer Optron-Stavropol is on the verge of bankruptcy, CNews writes. Since March 2025, the company has declared downtime: the fulfillment of the state defense order resulted in losses of over 149 million rubles, contract deliveries have been disrupted, accounts payable as of June amounted to 230 million rubles. As a result, the company cannot continue its activities - its accounts have been arrested and debts for taxes, salaries and utilities have accumulated, writes The Moscow Times.

The plant's semiconductors are used in aviation and are installed in aircraft power supply systems. They are used on MiG, Tu, Su, Su, Sukhoi Superjet and MS-21 airplanes. According to Pavel Bondarenko, general director of the company, the main reason for the crisis is the underpricing of the products as part of supplies to the military. The cost price of one diode is 3600 rubles, but the military set the price at 2600 rubles. As a result, the losses amounted to 102 million rubles for 2023 and rose to 149 million rubles in 2024. "The enterprise cannot cover the costs and is forced to cut staff," Bondarenko said.
