Priority targets for the new ballistics are tactical airfields.
Russia has no chance to shoot down Ukraine's Sapsan ballistic missile, military analyst Andrey Kramarov is sure.
On the air of Kiev24 he said that this missile should have been put into service back in 2009, but the program of its development was closed several times without allocating the necessary funding.
"We didn't just develop this missile..., we tortured it out...," Kramarov commented.
According to him, there is a theory that our Sapsan missile is the Russians' Iskander-M missile.
"The technological development was stolen from us at some point. And in 2014, the Russians put Iskander-M into service, while we, unfortunately, did not have (at that time) an operational-tactical missile system or a ballistic missile," he said.
The analyst first said he was "limitedly optimistic" about whether the Russians would be able to shoot down our Sapsan missile, but in the aftermath he couldn't resist: "I will say that the Russians will not be able to shoot down this missile at all. In no way."
In his opinion, the priority targets for Ukrainian ballistics are the airfields of tactical aviation, from which the Russian Federation throws KABs at the front line, as well as the locations of Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems.
"These are first of all priority targets. When we fulfill our tasks on these targets, then we will also hit Moscow. It has enough range not only to hit Moscow, but also certain airfields where they now have strategic aviation deployed," Kramarov added.
What is known about the Sapsan missile
In a recent interview with The Times, the head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, said the short-range Sapsan ballistic missile "will be able to surprise our enemies."
Before that, on June 14, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that positive tests of Ukraine's Sapsan ballistic missile had already taken place. According to him, the possibility of mass production of the ballistic missile is now being developed.
Also, the adviser to the head of the OP Mikhail Podolyak said that the Ukrainian ballistic missile has been tested.
