Explosions again occurred at a military facility in the Russian Federation. On the morning of June 25, an ammunition depot caught fire in Transbaikalia. According to eyewitnesses, there were at least 50 explosions. The causes of the fire are officially called "natural", writes "Dialogue.UA".
According to the Russian media, a fire broke out at an ammunition depot in the morning of June 25 near the military unit near the village of Bolshaya Tura in Russia's Transbaikal Territory.
The official version is that the fire broke out due to a landscape fire: dry grass caught fire, after which the ammunition began to detonate.
According to eyewitnesses, there were at least 50 explosions. The territory of the military facility was cordoned off, and local residents were urged to be careful.
Mi-8 helicopters were involved in the extinguishment, as well as EMERCOM aviation, and Il-76 and Be-200 firefighting planes are on standby.
There is no information about casualties at the moment. It is worth noting that this is not the first such incident: in 2014 there was already a large-scale fire caused by a forest fire. Then the explosions killed 10 people, damaged houses and a local school.
The war that Russia has unleashed is increasingly turning against its military facilities themselves. Incidents at ammunition depots are becoming a regular occurrence and demonstrate the vulnerability of Russia's military infrastructure, even deep behind the lines.
