Borislav Bereza: Russia Has Ditched Iran, And That's Fine
Borislav Bereza

A weak Kremlin is a plus for the civilized world.

The war between Iran and Israel, which was backed by the US, ended within 12 days.

Will these events have far-reaching consequences? The website Charter97.org talked to Ukrainian politician and former Verkhovna Rada deputy Boryslav Bereza about this:

- The war is not over. It has ended only in official statements, but any action can reignite it. Moreover, this war is bound to continue - sooner or later. Iran has not given up the idea of destroying Israel, and Israel will not give up preemptive strikes for its security. Therefore, we will see how the war will develop further.

This conflict has been mature for a long time and has finally entered an active phase. Right now, no one can say for sure in what form it will manifest itself next. One intelligence confirms that enriched uranium has been moved, facilities destroyed insufficiently. Another is that everything has been destroyed. There is no exact information.

It is important to understand: Iran is part of the axis of evil, along with Russia, North Korea, and the Lukashenko regime. These regimes are united by the ideology of totalitarianism and hatred of the free world. No one would be surprised if one of these countries aided another in striking democracies.

The September 11 attacks in the U.S. and the October 7 attacks in Israel showed that attacks can be large-scale and unexpected. Iran remains committed to destroying Israel - and it is not giving up its plans.

- The ayatollahs' regime has weakened. Will this affect Russia?

- Russia has shown itself weak towards Iran. Despite allied statements, Moscow has not helped Tehran in any way - neither politically nor militarily. This is yet another confirmation that Russia will always ditch you if it gets the chance. Russia has ditched Iran - that's fine.

In addition, Russia has proven that it is a failed negotiator. Putin offered Trump mediation - he refused. Putin called Netanyahu, with whom he supposedly has warm relations - again to no avail.

A weak Russia in the international arena is a plus for the civilized world. Iran is once again convinced that Russia is worthless, and is likely to drift even more toward China, to which it has drifted before.
