There's a wave of purges in the PRC.
China has expelled a top general from the top military body headed by the country's leader Si Jinping - a wave of "purges" continues, writes Bloomberg.
General Miao Hua, who oversaw political loyalty in the armed forces, has been expelled from the Central Military Council, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress said in a statement.
The six-member Central Military Council is the main decision-making body in the armed forces and one of the most powerful structures in China. Under Xi, there are two deputy heads who serve as military chiefs and three other members, including Miao, who was considered a close ally of the country's leader.
Miao was suspended from the Central Military Council last year because he was under investigation for "serious breaches of discipline." For the country's ruling Communist Party, such language usually means a bribery probe. In April, Miao was expelled from the country's parliament without explanation.
