UK Prepares Strike On Lukashenko's Income

The UK will raise duties on nitrogen fertilizers from Belarus and Russia from July 18. This targeted measure is being introduced to deny these countries access to the most-favored-nation treatment when exporting these goods, the British Ministry of Business and Trade reported.

The increase in import rates for nitrogen fertilizers from Belarus and Russia in the UK will be phased.

The duties will be 10% from July 18, 2025, 20% from July 1, 2026, and 35% from July 1, 2027. At the same time, the rate on nitrogen for importers from other countries will be at the level of 6 - 6.5%.

Reminder, since 2022, the UK has an additional duty of 35% on imports of the most important products in the foreign trade of Belarus. This decision was taken within the framework of sanctions against Russia and Belarus in connection with the war in Ukraine.
