Ukraine Repeatedly Strikes Russian Military Airfield Near Krasnodar

Drones attacked the Kushchevskaya airbase.

Ukraine continues to launch pinpoint strikes against Russia's military infrastructure, this time targeting the Kushchevskaya airfield in the Krasnodar region.

The information was confirmed by the Russian publication ASTRA, citing informed sources on the ground. The strike reportedly took place around midnight on June 25.

The military airfield was attacked by drones. One of the drones made its way to the target and hit an electrical substation that supplied power to the base.

Sources say there were no casualties. Local residents reported explosions in the area the same night, but there was no official confirmation at the time.

Sources in the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry have now confirmed the attack and the nature of the damage.

Kushchevskaya is not a new target for Ukrainian strikes. In April 2024, an attack there damaged military aircraft, and in May, a supersonic SU-27 fighter jet and infrastructure facilities on the territory of the base.

An attack on an electrical substation could significantly affect the functioning of the airfield, as uninterrupted power supply is critical for the launch and maintenance of aircraft, communications and REB systems.
