British General Warns Of Putin's 'temptation'

The Kremlin will want to test NATO.

The main threat to Britain now comes from Russian Federation, says retired British officer and serving constable Richard Dannatt.

In comments to Sky News, the former Chief of General Staff said the Ukrainian army had done a fantastic job of containing Russia during the all-out war. He suggests that within one to three months, the sides could reach some kind of ceasefire:

"It will probably take the Russians about two years to reset themselves and put themselves in a position where they can become aggressive again elsewhere. I think that will tempt Vladimir Putin to want to test NATO's strength and see if Article 5 - if an attack on one member is an attack on all members of the Alliance - still applies."

Dunnutt said the Kremlin ruler has always sought to destroy the unity of the West and the North Atlantic Alliance. "He would be happy to break it up," he added.
