What You Can Get For "Property" Checks With "The Chase"

Belarusians can still benefit from Property checks.

Many people probably remember old, worn certificates with the image of Mir Castle and state symbols of 1991-1994. These are property privatization cheques "Property", which were put into circulation in Belarus in 1993 within the framework of "people's" voucher privatization and were issued until the middle of 1997.

Mass privatization in the country never took place, but it was thanks to the "Property" checks that many individuals became shareholders of the enterprises where they worked.

According to the decree published on the national legal portal, Belarus has again extended the term of circulation of personal privatization checks "Property". They can be used for another 5 years.

The validity of these checks expired on December 31, 2025. Now the Belarusians will be able to use them until the end of 2030, the document says.

They can be used to buy shares of Belarusian enterprises. The checks are exchanged for shares in the branches of Belarusbank.

Today, shares of 158 open joint-stock companies in various industries are offered for exchange for "Property" checks.

The validity of these securities has been adjusted in Belarus several times. In 2022, it was extended for three years - until the end of 2025.
