Surveillance systems are also prohibited.

Iranian authorities have decided to ban the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi from visiting the country's nuclear facilities, as well as to disable video surveillance cameras. According to media reports, this is because the Israeli government has allegedly gained access to "sensitive data" from these facilities, writes Politico (translated by Charter97.org).

The Iranian parliament's deputy speaker Hamid Reza Haji Babaei said this during the funerals of senior military and nuclear scientists killed in recent Israeli strikes.

Israel has been targeting Iranian nuclear sites with drones and airplanes in an attempt to prevent the development of nuclear weapons, prompting retaliatory missile attacks by Iran on Israeli cities. After a twelve-day conflict, a ceasefire was agreed.

Iran previously allowed IAEA inspectors to inspect its nuclear facilities and installed advanced surveillance cameras as part of a 2015 nuclear deal with several world powers. However, since the US withdrew from the agreement in 2018, Tehran has threatened several times to disable the surveillance systems during negotiations over its nuclear program.

New Iranian decision could make international scrutiny of its nuclear activities much more difficult.
