Another Belarusian Was Captured By The AFU

The man lived in the Russian city of Yaroslavl and fought on the side of Russia.

Ukraine has handed over three captured Belarusians to Russia within the framework of the largest exchange in recent times (1,000 for 1,000). Another 8 remain in Ukrainian captivity.

A Belarusian citizen Sergei Kuzmenko was captured during the fighting near Petrovka, Donetsk region, reports Radiyo Svaboda. The man lived in the Russian city of Yaroslavl and fought on the Russian side.

The state-run Ukrainian project "I Want to Live," which is run by the coordination headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war, said that "Sergei Anatolievich Kuzmenko was captured in May."

Kuzmenko fought as a rifleman in the second battalion of the 102nd motorized rifle regiment of the 150th division, which after the fighting near Mariupol actually had to be completely renewed - then in the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukrainian forces destroyed at least seven tactical battalions of the division.

The details of his contract with the Russian army are unknown, and his name was not included in the previous lists of captured Belarusians.

Now, including Kuzmenko, there are eight Belarusian citizens in Ukrainian captivity.
