Between 10 and 13 of them are completely destroyed.
At least 40 Russian aircraft were damaged during Operation Web. From 10 to 13 of them were completely destroyed. Such statistics were voiced by a senior NATO official at a briefing in Brussels, the correspondent of "Euroradio" reports.
He emphasized that these figures were obtained independently from the Security Service of Ukraine. Earlier, it said 41 Russian aircraft were damaged during the operation.
The NATO official added that the Ukrainians attacked conventional, exclusively military targets, which Russia used to strike Ukrainian civilians. Therefore, he does not expect Operation Web to provoke an escalation of hostilities.
The preparation of Operation Web took a year and a half. Its active phase took place on June 1. The SBU first smuggled FPV drones into Russia, and later mobile wooden "houses" for them. The drones were hidden under the lids of the "houses", which were placed on trucks. At the right moment, the lids of the huts were remotely opened and the drones flew out to rendezvous with Russian bombers.
