A Famous Belarusian Hockey Player Has Finished His Career

Sergey Kostitsyn has 191 points in 393 NHL games.

After 23 years in professional hockey, Sergei Kostitsyn decided to end his career as a player. This was reported by Zhlobin club Metallurg, where the Belarusian played.

Sergei Kostitsyn is one of the best hockey players in the history of Belarusian hockey, notes the specialized federation. The forward has 191 points in 393 NHL games for the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators. He played for the Belarusian national team at seven World Championships (41 games) and at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver (4 games).

In the KHL he played for Avangard, Ak Bars, Torpedo and Dynamo Minsk. He scored 177 points in 361 games. With Kazan he reached the final of the Gagarin Cup.

Kostitsyn is a three-time champion of Belarus (before Zhlobin he won gold in 2003 with Gomel), a three-time winner of the Cup of Belarus and a participant of the 2015 KHL All-Star Game.

The last three seasons the forward played for Metallurg Zhlobin.
