A date has been named for the first business meeting.
Ukraine and the United States want to launch the Minerals Fund by the end of the year, and its first meeting is scheduled for July.
This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister Yuliya Sviridenko. She held meetings with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and the Development Finance Corporation, which will be a partner in the Mineral Fund.
"We discussed very concrete steps on how to make this fund operational within this year," she said, according to Reuters.
She said the sides plan to hold the first meeting of the board of directors of this fund in July and discuss what the initial capital will be. Sviridenko added that they need to "adopt an investment strategy for this fund for the next few years."
