The border was violated by three law enforcers.

Border guards of the Jurgis Kibartas outpost, which belongs to the Vilna border guard detachment, recorded a possible violation of the state border by Belarus - infiltration into the territory of Lithuania, according to a press release of the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service, writes LRT.

On Wednesday evening, the staff of the outpost observed three Belarusian border guards walking along the border from the side of Belarus. On the Lithuanian side, this is the territory of Vilnius district.

It is noted that on the ground, the border line is marked by a central polygonometric pole, on both sides of which state border signs are installed. A little deeper from these signs, on the Lithuanian territory, there is a physical barrier - a fence with barbed wire, designed to protect against illegal migration.

Preliminary data suggest that during the patrol the Belarusian border guards could enter the territory of Lithuania by about 2 meters and immediately return back to Belarus.

The Vilnius Border Guard Unit collects materials, clarifies the circumstances and decides to launch a pre-trial investigation into the illegal crossing of the state border.
