Zelensky Reveals Whether Van Drivers Knew About SBU Operation "Web" In Advance

The Ukrainian president also revealed new details of the unique attack.

Russian truck drivers who transported what later became platforms for Ukraine's massive surprise drone attack on Russian strategic aircraft did so without knowing they were taking part in the operation, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said.

"They didn't know anything," Zelensky said in an exclusive interview with Martha Raddatz, which will air Sunday on the This Week with George Stephanopoulos program on ABC News .

The Ukrainian leader said they were simply doing their job. Zelensky explained that the drivers did not know that the mobile homes and other containers they were transporting were secretly equipped with drones, which later attacked Russian airbases. He also emphasized that the operation involved exclusively Ukrainian special services and used only Ukrainian weapons.

"I really wanted only what we produce ourselves to be used and for this separation to be absolutely clear," the Ukrainian head of state stressed.
