Poland Extended The Buffer Zone On The Border With Belarus

For another 90 days.

The resolution, extending the buffer zone on the border with Belarus for another 90 days, was signed by Poland's Minister of Interior and Administration (MIAA) Tomasz Siemoniak, reported the press service of the MIAA on June 7.

The decision will come into force on June 8.

The buffer zone began operating on June 13, 2024, and has been extended three times so far: from September 11 to December 9, 2024, from December 10 to March 9, 2025, and from March 10 to June 7.

The number of attempts to enter the country illegally has decreased "by about 28%" during the buffer's duration.
