An important Russian chemical plant is on fire.
Russia's Novomoskovsk (Tula region) claimed a UAV attack on the night of Sunday, June 8. Explosions were heard, after which a fire broke out at the chemical plant NAK Azot JSC, Observer reported.
Russian media also reported this. According to local residents, they heard five to eight explosions and saw the work of air defense forces.
Later, bright flashes were also seen by people from the village of Kamenetsky and residents of the Donskoy district. Meanwhile, Kaluga has introduced the "Cover" plan.
It is known that Azot is a part of Eurochem Holding. The main types of products produced by the plant are ammonia, ammonium nitrate, urea, methanol, KAS-32, nitrogen-limestone fertilizer.
The attack at Azot was later confirmed by Tula Region Governor Dmitri Milyaev. According to him, two people were injured and the burning was extinguished.
"No exceedances of permissible levels of pollutants have been recorded. Environmental monitoring is provided by the laboratories of Rosportrebnadzor and the regional agency Nature," the official said.

Russian media reported that on May 24, NAC Azot in Novomoskovsk, Tula Region, had already been attacked by UAVs. Then the drones hit the plant, causing a low-pressure pipeline with natural gas in shop 4 to catch fire.
Two 750-ton tanks with nitric acid were also damaged. Nitric acid leaked from one of them onto the ground. The plant was completely suspended on the day of the attack.
