GUR Hackers 'put Down' Russian Railroad Services

Details of the unconventional attack became known.

Cyber-specialists of Ukrainian intelligence attacked the online system of the Russian railroad. The official resource of RZD (Russian Railways) is not working.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to sources.

According to sources in the Defense Ministry's GUR, as a result of a non-standard attack, the performance of the zd.ru system has been disrupted.

The operation in particular led to the failure of NS servers, which are responsible for recognizing domain names in the network. Thus, at the level of the rzd.ru domain (including all subdomains) it is impossible to convert the domain name to an IP address, as a result of which all services on rzd.ru no longer work (including mobile applications).

The fact of a cyberattack on the infrastructure recognized and in Russian Railways. According to their press service, the attack had a capacity of 6 GB and almost 2.5 million packets per second.

Russian users have actually lost the ability to use the resources of Russian Railways.
