Russian Law Enforcers Detain Krasnoyarsk Mayor
Vladislav Loginov

The city administration is being searched.

The mayor of Russia's Krasnoyarsk Vladislav Loginov was detained on the morning of June 9 on suspicion of taking a bribe on a particularly large scale, sources told TASS and Krasnoyarsk edition Ngs24.ru in law enforcement agencies. According to the latter, the city administration is currently being searched, but the mayor's office does not officially comment on this information.

Also, investigative actions are taking place in Loginov's house. At the same time, the law enforcement agencies are considering sending Loginov to Moscow, as the case is being handled by the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Ngs24.ru wrote. The day before, on June 8, Krasnoyarsk celebrated City Day. Loginov appeared in public and gave flowers to singer Pelageya, who performed at the holiday concert.

Loginov, 57, took over as head of Krasnoyarsk in September 2022. Prior to that, he was the first deputy mayor for five years, and worked in the city administration since 2012. He held the positions of deputy head of the Department of Municipal Economy and deputy head of the Department of Municipal Order, and also for some time headed the administrations of the Sverdlovsky and Sovetsky districts. Loginov was born in Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk region, graduated from the local military aviation technical school and worked in the direction of aviation since 1984. Then he moved to the spheres of transportation and logistics. He worked, among other things, in the "Krasnoyarsk Road Construction Department", "Krai Road-Exploitation Organization" (KraiDEO) and in various positions at an asphalt-concrete plant. Loginov is married and has three children. He was awarded a medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II degree.

In 2024, as Ngs24.ru recalls, the legislative assembly of Krasnoyarsk Krai called for the creation of a working group to check the city administration for corruption schemes in road repair. However, at that time they "found no grounds" for this. At the same time, Krasnoyarsk residents complained about the failed streetcar reform, garbage collapse, utility accidents, traffic jams and tree felling.
