Imitations of the activities of a decrepit dictator have reached a new level.

Political analyst Sergei Chaly assesses Lukashenko's trip to China last week as "extremely strange."

"It was the strangest Lukashenko visit I've ever seen. As Deputy Prime Minister Snopkov emphasized several times, negotiations are optional, and this was a family friendly dinner. And that is the most important thing.

This is not a working visit, not an official visit, a visit for a family friendly lunch. That is, in fact, the same tourist trip, which Lukashenko himself banned back in November last year," Chaly ironizes.

The so-called meeting of Lukashenko with representatives of "Chinese business circles" was also strange, according to Chaly. Neither the video nor the photo shows who exactly he met with. The press service of the Belarusian ruler was also silent about it.

"Lukashenko might as well have been talking to an empty chair. And this is anything but negotiations with business circles, because there is no protocol shooting, no exchange of gifts, no greeting or response from the Chinese side. And certainly there is no business forum with the participation of Belarusian ministers and heads of enterprises, which usually accompany Lukashenko's business visits, especially if we take into account that this visit was supposed to take place in January this year," says the analyst.

According to Chaly, "the blatant strangeness of the event is explained by propaganda in the usual way: they say that Lukashenko is busy with such complicated and important matters that they should not be told or shown to the Belarusian people. You just believe - Lukashenko is working."

And in this particular case, he notes, two versions of events are possible:

"The first. The unlikely one. They discussed topics that cannot be talked about with people who cannot be named.

The second one is that the operation of imitating the activity of the decrepit Lukashenko has reached a new, previously unattainable level. And after that it will be possible to talk about any meetings with any world leaders. The main thing is to choose the right extras and scenery".
