The Barcelona striker has ousted Real Madrid's Brazilian forward Vinicius Júnior.
Barcelona and Spanish national team striker Lamin Yamal has displaced Real Madrid's Brazilian forward Vinicius Júnior from the first place in the list of the world's most expensive players according to Transfermarkt.
The portal raised the value of 17-year-old Yamal from €180 million to €200 million, while Vinicius lost €30 million in value to €170 million.
The second place in the list of the most expensive footballers was shared by French striker of Real Madrid Kylian Mbappe, his English teammate Jude Bellingham and Norwegian forward of Manchester City Erling Holand - the cost of all three Transfermarkt estimated at €180 million.
Yamal, who in May extended his contract with Barcelona until 2031, on June 3 was also recognized as the world's most expensive footballer by the International Center for Sports Research (CIES Football Observatory) - it estimated him according to its own economic algorithm at €402.3 million.
