Rutte: Russia Could Attack NATO Within Five Years

Because of the speed of Russian missiles, there is no longer a separation between "east and west".

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte believes Russia could attack NATO within the next five years. During a speech in London, he emphasized that there is already "no east or west" given the speed and lethality of Russian missiles, The Telegraph reports The Telegraph.

"Don't kid yourselves, we are all on the eastern flank. There is no east or west, there is only NATO. The distance between European capitals is only a few minutes [for Russian missiles]," the secretary general stressed.

He also warned that the Russian threat "will not disappear when the war in Ukraine is over," and called on the Alliance to increase defense spending. In particular, NATO countries need a 400% increase in air defense spending, he emphasized.
